Communicating the health world with clarity and impact: MiRò alongside Fondazione Mutagens
Milan, October 10, 2025 – In the field of public health, communication is not just a visibility tool: it is a responsibility. Especially when dealing with complex and highly sensitive topics, such as genetic mutations and hereditary syndromes.
In this context, we are proud to collaborate with Mutagens Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to scientific dissemination, research, and support for patients carrying pathogenetic genetic variants, with a specific focus on hereditary-familial cancer.
A partnership born from a shared vision: making science accessible, understandable, and useful for people through clear language, an effective strategy, and a solid digital presence.
Who is Mutagens Foundation
Founded in Milan on February 11, 2020, Mutagens Foundation was created thanks to the strength of president Salvo Testa, to support carriers of genetic mutations, particularly in the context of hereditary syndromes related to cancer. Its objective is twofold: on one hand, to support scientific research and clinical care of patients; on the other, to create a network of information and awareness for families, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
Mutagens is a reference point in Italy for those dealing with complex and often poorly understood genetic diagnoses, and works to bridge the gap between scientific information, patient empowerment, and public communication.
MiRò’s role: strategy, digital channels, and press launch
The collaboration with Mutagens Foundation has been structured from the start on multiple levels, in an integrated and modular perspective.
1. Facebook page management
We have built a consistent editorial line to inform, raise awareness, and generate valuable interactions. Through informative columns, project updates, testimonials, and educational posts, we are building a stable point of contact with the community.
2. Website migration and update
Working together with the Foundation on structure, content, and SEO optimization. The objective: to improve information accessibility, ensure simple navigation even for non-expert users, and facilitate search engine indexing.
3. Press launch of the Pro-Lynch Project
A key moment was the press launch of the Pro-Lynch Project, an information campaign aimed at raising public awareness about cancer prevention and in particular the genetic mutations underlying Lynch Syndrome.
By managing the PR and media relations strategy, leveraging direct contacts with major medical-scientific, lifestyle, and health publications, we obtained coverage through interviews and in-depth features. The campaign’s objective was twofold: on one hand to inform readers and on the other to encourage them toward prevention of a still little-known genetic condition.
“In this work, the key was to translate the complexity of the topic into simple and truly effective language for both journalists and readers. Patients affiliated with the association became fundamental testimonials to tell the importance of prevention” explains Valeria Sartorio, expert in unconventional communication strategies.
A look to the future: new results and projects
The collaboration is continuously evolving. Together with the president, we have planned strategic tools to plan future activities, both on the communication front and in fundraising and institutional activities of the Foundation.
In parallel, MiRò will support Mutagens in digital communication activities, thematic campaigns, event management, and stakeholder relations. All with the objective of increasing the Foundation’s visibility, strengthening its positioning, and supporting its mission with professional, ethical, and innovative tools.
Communication in the third sector: a strategic asset
This collaboration also represents a concrete example of MiRò’s expertise in the non-profit and socio-health sector. Communicating for the third sector means finding a balance between scientific rigor, empathy, and accessibility. It is work that requires sensitivity, listening skills, and deep respect for message recipients. For this reason, we deploy dedicated teams, trained to operate in complex and regulated fields, capable of translating complexity into clear, reliable, and engaging content.
More awareness, more value
Our collaboration with Mutagens Foundation is based on a common objective: bringing greater awareness to the role of genetic mutations and personalized prevention. In a context where health information is often confusing or incorrectly simplified, building quality communication is a form of social responsibility.
MiRò will continue to work alongside the Foundation with the conviction that every piece of content, if well constructed, can become an opportunity for change, knowledge, and care.
